SDA Agency Provides Mobile Water Treatment Plant

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency has provided one mobile Water Treatment Plant (IPA) which is currently stationed at Sunter Selatan Pump Station, Jalan Sunter Jaya I, Sunter Jaya Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district, North Jakarta.
It can be operated anywhere or taken to areas that need clean water
Jakarta SDA Agency Clean Water Supply and Control Section Head, Glenn Santista mentioned, mobile IPA is a system used to process raw water into clean water that can be moved according to the locations that need clean water.
"It can be operated anywhere or taken to areas that need clean water. Especially, we prioritize it in North Jakarta and West Jakarta because both areas still need clean water supply," he said, Friday (5/28).
Ancol IPA Provides Clean Water to Local ResidentsAccording to him, mobile IPA is provided to anticipate water crisis and limited access to clean water during disasters, such as flood and drought.
"This mobile IPA become a solution in fulfilling Jakarta residents' need of clean water. This unit is very needed in difficult situation or when disaster that triggers clean water crisis," he stated.
The existing mobile IPA unit was procured using City Budget (APBD) 2020.
"This year, we will add 10 mobile IPA units," he mentioned.
In addition, this mobile IPA has production capacity of 0.5 liters per second. It uses water source from river, lake, spring, freshwater swamp and processes it into water with quality standard in accordance with Health Minister Regulation No. 32/2007.
Mobile IPA is made from carbon steel with thickness 6 mm on the bottom plate and 4 mm on IPA wall, and it is fabricated using standard welding method for food grade workmansip.
