Perumda Pasar Jaya continues to expand food distribution network in Jakarta. This regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) will add 20 Jakmart outlets this year.

Currently, we have 168 existing outlets in various locations

Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin mentioned, 20 new outlets will spread across Jakarta Government offices, including traditional markets.

"Currently, we have 168 existing outlets in various locations, including urban village and sub-district offices," he informed, Monday (5/31).

Adding new outlets, he assessed, is not on ly carried out to expand daily necessity and food distribution network, but also to convince Jakartans that food supply and stock are relatively stable.

"All commodities in Jakmart are supplied from Jakgrosir at Kramat Jati Central Market. It is an integral part of distribution chain carried out by Pasar Jaya to control inflation and prevent speculator's tricks," he explained.

Jakmart outlets sell food commodities and goods at lower prices. Adding outlets is expected to help people in fulfilling their needs at affordable prices.

"We also strengthening network with communities to ensure that our food commodities' prices are relatively stable and affordable, thus inflation in Jakarta can be maintained," he said.
