Anies Hopes Cooperation Between Jakarta and East Java will Provide Justice to All

Jakarta Government and East Java Government are building inter-regional development cooperation. This collaboration is divided into three forms of Cooperation Agreement (PKS), namely Industrial and Trade Cooperation, Food Needs Community Plan, Order and Purchase worth of Rp 3,925,000,000.

Jakarta is a service city that has a high dependence on commodities from outside the region

It was carried out as a part of 'Trade and Investment Missions' activity in order to improve connectivity network between two regions, at Bidakara Hotel, Pancoran, South Jakarta, on Thursday (6/3).

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan said, this cooperation is very basic and important which based on justice for all parties, thus all parties' welfare is fulfilled and market activity can run well and efficiently.

"We in DKI Jakarta have around 17-18 percent of economic activity in Indonesia to contribute throughout the country. Besides, we in Jakarta is a service city that has a high dependence on commodities from outside the region, especially related to basic needs. If we calculate it, it can be more than 98 percent of food needs supply," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

From this explanation, he emphasized that Jakarta Government has divided the tasks, where SKPD manages demand, BUMD manages supply, to ensure size, quantity, and location. Thus supply distribution for Jakarta residents can be more optimal and efficient.

"What does it mean? The need is entrusted to market mechanism, when BUMD operates. We want markets in Jakarta to be fulfilled more and more every day. Thus, the simplest indication of meeting supply and demand is when the prices are stable, inflation is under control, it can affect all regions throughout Indonesia," he conveyed.

He assessed that East Java is one of the regions which produce foods for needs in Jakarta, thus the trade mission activity is highly appreciated by both parties. He also hopes the joint work to be very useful for both regions with appropriate supply and price.

"Hopefully this meeting can benefit all households in Jakarta and East Java. Don't forget, our meeting today is not only looking for higher profit, bigger business opportunities, but in the end it is to bring social justice to all parties involved in here," he stated.

East Java Deputy Governor, Emil Dardak expressed his appreciation for the ongoing trade mission activity. Considering this agreement is not only business trade issue, but also related to fraternal relation between two regions.

"We are grateful for this opportunity where we can establish friendship. This activity can strengthen trade relation as well as fraternity. This is seen very extraordinary. When combined, one third of Indonesia's economy is in Jakarta and East Java. So, the closer the communication, God willing, the better," he mentioned.

"Earlier, Jakarta Governor (Anies) also greeted MSMEs from both East Java and DKI, and we think it is an extraordinary spirit. After this, hopefully communication will continue. We also see BUMDs in DKI have innovative collaboration, so we learn a lot," he continued.

For information, this activity was also attended by East Java Council (DPRD) Commission B, Aliyadi Mustofa; Bank Indonesia East Java Representative Office Head, Difi Ahmad Johansyah; Blitar Regent Rini Syarifah; Malang Mayor, Setiaji; Situbondo Regent Representative; Jakarta Secretariat Acting Askesra (Plt), Suharti; Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Acting Head, Andry Yansyah; as well as officials from Jakarta Government and East Java Government.
