Bintang Laut SPKP Participates in National Level Village Appreciation Competition

Bintang Laut Forestry and Rural Extension Center (SPKP) from Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands participated in National Level Village Appreciation Competition organized by Environment and Forestry Ministry (KLHK).

We hope they get the best score and achievements at national level event

Kelapa Island Urban Village Acting Head (Plt), Muslim strongly supported Bintang Laut SPKP to take a part in the competition since it is a community assisted by National Park Management Section (STPN) Region 1, Kelapa Island, Thousand Islands National Park Center.

"We hope they get the best score and achievements at national level event which held to commemorate National Conservation Day," he said, Saturday (6/12).

Thousand Islands National Park Center's Kelapa Island STPN Region 1 Head, Isai Yusidarta is optimistic that Bintang Laut SPKP will win the competition this year because his side was runner-up last year.

"Hopefully this year we can win the competition and it can encouraged us to conserve and protect the ecosystem," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Bintang Laut SPKP Head, Iskandar Rachman conveyed, not only carrying out environmental conservation in Thousand Islands, his side also empowers community through Joint Business Group (KUBE) with housewives as its members.

"There are various business we built, from producing squid sticks, crispy selar fish, fish nuggers, fish pilus, and ready-to-eat dishes. We hope we can win with these various coaching and development as well as conservation that we have done," he said.
