Rainy Season, 500 Janitors Deployed in W. Jakarta

West Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department plans to prepare 500 freelance workers as janitor to clean up trash pile in the rivers, drains, and citizen residential during rainy season. Head of West Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Wahyu Pudjiastuti said those will be spread in flood-prone areas in West Jakarta.

She furthered several dump trucks will also be spread in eight sub-districts and each district would have 20 trucks. "To optimize our effort, we deploy dump trucks," she told.

525 Janitors Prepared to Anticipate Flooding in Jakarta

Of the eight sub-districts, Pudjiastuti added, there are two of them produce the most trash, namely Cengkareng and Kalideres. In accordance with standard operating procedure, when floods inundated dozens of points in West Jakarta, the janitors would continue to transport trash, despite the rain pours the city.
