1,000 Janitors to Clean Up Trashes in Presidential Inauguration

Jakarta Cleanliness Department is about to prepare 1,000 janitors to clean up the trashes left after the celebration of Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla inauguration as the new Indonesia President and Vice President on Monday (10/20). Those janitors will be deployed along Jalan Sudirman, Jalan Thamrin, and Monas area.

Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Saptastri Ediningtyas Kusumadewi, said the janitors will clean the trashes around MPR building, Monas, and Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin. In addition, her department also provides supporting facilities, such as 22 dump trucks, 15 mobile toilets, 3 clean-water tank trucks, and 3 dirty-water tank trucks.
“The janitors will wear orange shirts and orange vests. All of them are recorded well and have complete identity for security,” she stated, Saturday (10/18).

The car is planned to be placed on Jalan Sudirman-Jalan MH Thamrin, precisely at free food location. Thousands of trash bins will also be installed and 3,000 trash bags will be distributed for free.
“Actually, along Jalan Sudirman-Jalan MH Thamrin there are already many trash bins. But, we will add more, particularly near every park bench and bus stop,” she told.
For information, the presidential inauguration will be enlivened with parade of reog ponorogo, ontel bike, ondel-ondel (giant effigies), barongsai (lion dance), etc. While for the stage at Monas, Indonesian artists are scheduled to perform there, namely Slank, Oppie Andaresta, Saykoji, Rif, and Aura Kasih. The event will be ended by cutting tumpeng (cone-shaped rice dish) and releasing 17,480 lanterns simultaneously in 31 locations all over Indonesia. In Jakarta, about 7,000 lanterns will be released into the air by 150,000 people.
