Upas Prepares Emergency Quarantine Room for OTG Patients

The School Transportation Management Unit (Upas) for Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is preparing an emergency quarantine room for people without Covid-19 symptoms. This room can also be used for local residents while waiting for a referral to a hospital.

It can accommodate 50 men and 6 women

Upas Head, Ali Murthadho said that it was prepared on the ground floor of the employee mess on Jalan Raya Pondok Gede, Dukuh, Kramat Jati. There were foam mattresses, dispensers, refrigerators, televisions, internet networks, air conditioners and fans. It was also equipped with a pantry, a bathroom, a place for ablution and a prayer room.

"It can accommodate 50 men and 6 women. Actually it has been existed since the beginning of the pandemic last year," he said, Monday (7/5).

Initially, he explained, the capacity was only six people and has now been expanded to accommodate 50 people. This time it had been filled with four Dishub employees with Covid-19 symptoms. They had been quarantined since last Saturday (7/3), pending a referral to a hospital.

"It is also for local residents who do not have a proper place for self-isolation," he explained.

Kramat Jati Sub-district Head, Eka Darmawan who also serves as Covid-19 Task Force Chairman, appreciated it.

"We'll announce this news to our urban village head and residents soon," he concluded.

He were also about to coordinate with puskesmas and health professional organizations to participate in monitoring OTG patients in the quarantine room.
