North Jakarta Mayor Leads Inspection in Office Buildings

North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim directly led sudden inspection to number of offices to ensure offices to comply with applicable regulations during Emergency PPKM.

We ask residents to participate in monitoring and giving information via complaint channels

Policy regarding office operation during Emergency PPKM is referred to Manpower Transmigration (Nakertrans) and Energy Agency Head Decree No. 1881/2021

It stated that only 50 percent of total employees who are allowed to work from office (WFO) for companies engaged in essential sector such as finance, capital market, payment system, information technology, hospitality, and export industry.

It also allows companies in critical sectors to operate 100 percent, such as companies run in fields of energy, health, security, logistic, transportation, f&B industry, petrochemical, cement, national vital objects, disaster management, national strategic projects, construction, basic utilities, and industry that meet basic needs of the community.

"Beyond that, 100 percent employees should work from home (WFH)," he asserted, during the inspection held in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Wednesday (7/7).  

From sudden inspection activity, one company was found violated the regulation.

"We give sanction in form of temporary suspension of activities starting today until July 20," he mentioned.

He asked cooperation from all parties to support the implementation of Emergency PPKM by not forcing employees who are outside the provisions to work in office.

"We ask residents to participate in monitoring and giving information via complaint channels when they find any similar violation," he added.

On the other hand, North Jakarta Nakertrans Agency Head, Gatot S. Widagdo conveyed, since Emergency PPK was implemented, complaints against violations in offices increased to 33 reports from the usual which around 10 reports a day.

"If there is a violation, we will give sanction ranging from administrative sanction in form of closure, to the heaviest sanction in form of criminal sanction. We will be strict to ensure companies to comply with the regulation in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he asserted.
