Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of July 18

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of July 18.

The number of people tested last week has reached 227,634

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 45,030 specimens. 33,772 of them were to diagnose new cases with 9,128 positive and 24,644 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 5,716 were tested, with 677 positive results and 5,039 negative results.

She mentioned the trend of active positive cases in children under the age of 18 continued to grow. Of the 9,128 positive cases today, 1,034 cases were children aged 6 - 18 years, 314 cases were children aged 0 - 5 years, 6,835 cases were aged 19 - 59 years, and 945 cases were aged 60 years and over.

"This is very important for parents to take care of their children more strictly and avoid going out of the house with the children. As much as possible do activities at home with children, as positive cases in children are currently still high," she urged, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Sunday (7/18).

As for the WHO test target is 1,000 people who are tested by PCR per million populations per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is a minimum of 10,645 people tested per week. As for the total vaccination dose 2 now reached 1,996,217 people (22.6%), with the number of people being vaccinated in a 2-day dose as many as 8,377 people.

While for residents aged 18-59 years, for dose 1 had been carried out to 70.3% and vaccination for dose 2 covered 18.4%. The categories of residents 18+ who can be vaccinated in Jakarta are:

• Residents with Jakarta ID cards

• Residents with ID cards from outside Jakarta, but domiciled in Jakarta (bring domicile information obtained from the RT officer, not necessarily from the RT head)

• Workers in Jakarta who have ID cards from outside Jakarta (bring information from the workplace)
