Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of July 16

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of July 9.

The number of people tested last week has reached 177,461

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 42,124 specimens. 29,486 of them were to diagnose new cases with 13,112 positive and 16,374 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 5,639 were tested, with 937 positive results and 4,702 negative results.

She mentioned the trend of active positive cases in children under the age of 18 continued to grow. Of the 13,112 positive cases today, 876 cases were children aged 6 - 18 years, 1,474 cases were children aged 0 - 5 years, 9,897 cases were aged 19 - 59 years, and 1,259 cases were aged 60 years and over.

"This is very important for parents to take care of their children more strictly and avoid going out of the house with the children. As much as possible do activities at home with children, as positive cases in children are currently still high," she urged, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Friday (7/16).

As for the WHO test target is 1,000 people who are tested by PCR per million populations per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is a minimum of 10,645 people tested per week. Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 5,388,600 people (61.1%), with the number of people being vaccinated in a 1-day dose as many as 226,905 people. As for the total vaccination dose 2 now reached 1,950,495 people (22.1%), with the number of people being vaccinated in a 2-day dose as many as 5,374 people.

Then the achievement of vaccination for children aged 12-17 years, for dose 1 had been carried out as much as 3.7%. While for residents aged 18-59 years, for dose 1 had been carried out to 59.5% and vaccination for dose 2 covered 17.9%. As for the elderly, vaccination dose 1 was done to 65.8% and vaccination dose 2 included 58.7%. Currently, 326 vaccination centers/locations have been available in Jakarta and will continue to be added as needed. To find them, it can be checked through the Google Maps application, by writing "vaksin COVID-19".

The categories of residents 18+ who can be vaccinated in Jakarta are:

• Residents with Jakarta ID cards

• Residents with ID cards from outside Jakarta, but domiciled in Jakarta (bring domicile information obtained from the RT officer, not necessarily from the RT head)

• Workers in Jakarta who have ID cards from outside Jakarta (bring information from the workplace)
