Market Operation Adjusted to Extension of PPKM Level 4 Policy

Perumda Pasar Jaya made adjustments to market operations referring to the Extension of PPKM Level 4 policy from July 26 to August 2, 2021.

There are several changes during extension of PPKM Level 4

Traditional markets that sell staple foods are allowed to open with strict health protocol. This policy refers to announcement of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on July 25, 2021 regarding extension of PPKM Level 4 period until August 2, 2021.

Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin mentioned, traditional markets that sell non-staple foods are allowed to open until 3 PM with maximum capacity of 50 percent.

"There are several changes during extension of PPKM Level 4, especially related to easing for small businesses such as street vendors (PKLs)," he stated in written statement, Monday (7/26).

According to him, Perumda Pasar Jaya has again adjusted the operating ours in all markets. It is because the previous PPKM also affected market's operating hours.

"All markets under Perumda Pasar Jaya can operate maximum until 3 PM by implementing health protocol with maximum market visitor capacity of 50 percent," he explained.

He added that market traders and visitors are required to show vaccination certificate (in form of cards/certificate/sms) when entering market. Considering vaccination have been carried out in many places throughout Jakarta.

"For culinary areas (food stalls/food carts) is limited maximum 20 minutes for each dine-in customers," he said.

He asked people to always carry out health protocol and each person in charge in markets to monitor its implementation.

"Market visitors are also asked to always comply with 5M health protocol in the market. Thus market will not become a place for disease transmission, especially COVID-19," he conveyed.
