Anies Wants Mustahik's Welfare to Be Guaranteed During Pandemic

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan witnessed the signing of collaborative work between Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) and Dompet Dufa in empowering mustahik (people who are entitled to receive zakat) in food security sector at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (8/5). He appreciated this activity as a form of Regional Government's concern through Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) as well as solution for residents affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

At the same time, we also help food producers, in this case farmers, in running their business

"We appreciate this collaboration since it is one of solutions for Jakarta residents who are affected by COVID-19 and empowered farmer partners of Dompet Dhuafa in Jakarta, Lampung, Banten, Jogjakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java. This is a very smart win-win solution," he mentioned, as quoted from PPID Press Release.

He also supported this cooperation because it was considered to be a good way in supporting food security by distributing it to da'wah activists, affected warteg traders, self-isolated residents, and affected street vendors.

"God willing, this assistance can help mustahik in facing difficult times during COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, we also help food producers, in this case farmers, in running their business," he said.

Moreover, he expected that after signing MoU, they can realize it by helping mustahik. According to him, this collaboration can encourage anyone to donate, both material and non-material, thus mustahik can get through the pandemic period with healthy and prosperous conditions.

"We hope its realization will help more Jakarta residents and provide benefits to farmers. Hopefully in the future, more economic activities will continue, thus we can recover economy in the near future," he stated.
