Two Reservoirs Construction Work at TPU Rorotan Enters Land Dredging Stage

Construction progress of two reservoirs at Rorotan Public Cemetery (TPU), RW 09, Rorotan Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-disrict, North Jakarta, has entered land dredging stage.

Cilincing Sub-disrict Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head, Tjahyono Budi Setiawan conveyed, his side planned to build reservoirs as wide as 1 hectare in east side and 2 hectares in west side which separated by inspection road.

"Reservoir is built to prevent inundation in TPU Rorotan. Reservoirs will be a storage of water system in public cemetery, which later be channeled to Gendong River, then to East Flood Canal (KBT)," he explained, Friday (8/13).

For this work, he added, his side deployed 15 heavy equipment and 22 personnel consisting of 15 heavy equipment operators, 5 personnel on duty and 2 supervisors.

"It has been started since July 2021. We are targeting it to finish in December. Its construction uses APBD (city budget)," he mentioned.

He stated that TPU Rorotan which is currently being used for COVID-19 bodies covers an area of 25 hectares. Not only reservoirs, but TPU Rorotan will be also equipped with supporting facilities.

"Bina Marga is currently compacting the soil and building access road to the reservoir to facilitate material and people's mobility," he closed.
