TIJA-PPI Hold Underwater Flag Hoist Ceremony at Sea World Ancol

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (TIJA) collaborated with Purna Paskibraka Indonesia (PPI) Jakarta to hold Indonesian flag hoisting ceremony in Sea World Ancol's giant aquarium,.

Even though they are experienced in hoisting the flag on the land, they still have to be trained to hoist the flag underwater

Ceremony to commemorate 76th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence and Merah Putih (red and white) flag hoisting will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 9:00.

The underwater ceremony can be watched virtually through Ancol Taman Impian's youtoube account and Instagram @ancoltamanimpian.

Sea World and Samudra Ancol Vice President, Rika Sudranto mentioned, Indonesian Flag Hoisting ceremony was carried out by professional divers and Paskibraka who had gone through special selection and training.

"There are two PPI Jakarta member, Dyfa Zasqya Farrythama and Chairil Amin Saputra who are in charge of hoisting the Red and White flag in the water. They will be accompanied by Sea World Ancol divers. While Muhammad Kautsar Rayhanafi is in charge of reading the 1945 Constitution," she explained, Monday (8/16).

According to her, they will carry out flag hoisting ceremony accompanied by thousands fish in the main aquarium with depth of 6 meters at Sea World Ancol.

"Even though they are experienced in hoisting the flag on the land, they still have to be trained to hoist the flag underwater," she stated.

She informed that underwater flag hoisting ceremony is held every year to commemorate Independence Day of Indonesia. The current global COVID-19 pandemic has not dampened the enthusiasm of Indonesian people to commemorate and enliven 76th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day.

The theme 'Indonesia Tangguh, Indonesia Tumbuh' is hoped that Indonesia will be able to face various crises that it has faced so far with resilience and various efforts made during the pandemic, which shows that Indonesia is growing.

"Let's take a part in the excitement of 76th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day with Ancol Taman Impian. Sea World Ancol is one place that teaches us to be grateful for blessings of independence. So, don't ever waste this independence, let's build Indonesia, Indonesia is Tough, Indonesia Grows," she asserted.
