22 Netted for Not Wearing Masks in Joglo

Some 22 people were netted by the Kembangan Sub-district Satpol PP, West Jakarta in the mask operation amid the public activity restrictions (PPKM Level 4), on Wednesday (8/18).

According to Sumardi Siringoringo, Head of Kembangan Sub-district Satpol PP, the mask operation was held on Jalan Joglo Raya, Joglo Urban Village.

"We punish them by sweeping the street or popularly called social work sanctions," he expressed.

To smoothen the operation, he had deployed as many as 17 joint personnel to the location. They consisted of Satpol PP, army and police.

"We also intensify education and socialization about the importance of implementing 5M health protocols during the pandemic," he said.

Hopefully, it could make them more disciplined towards the applicable rules in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
