Progress of Kebun Raya PHB Channel Dredging Work Now Reaches 85 Percent

Flood prevention program in West Jakarta is intensified by dredging connecting channels, reservoirs, and rivers in order to increase channel's capacity.
So far, the dredging progress has reached 850 square meters or 85 percent
Currently, Kebon Jeruk Water Resources (SDA) Unit is dredging Kebon Raya connecting (PHB) channel in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

Kebon Jeruk SDA Unit Head, Suprapto mentioned, dredging work on Kebon Raya PHB channel has been carried out since July 5, 2021 and now its progress has reached 85 percent. The work started from toll road of Jl. Kedoya Raya - Jl. Duri Kepa - Kebun Raya with length of 1.2 kilometers.
"So far, the dredging progress has reached 850 square meters or 85 percent with total 356 cubic meters mud have been dredged," he explained, Tuesday (8/24).
According to him, dredging work which used heavy equipment had been completed. Now, it remained waterway with length 350 meters that need to be dredged manually.
"The rest is dredging waterway from Kebun Raya to Kebun Raya Water Pump along 350 meters," he added.
He hopes dredging can increase water channel's capacity thus it can minimize flooding in the surrounding areas, especially in rainy season.
