Septic Tank Revitalization Phase I This Year Targets 826 Locations

The Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency is collaborating with the PD PAL Jaya to implement the subsidy program for household septic tank revitalization in 826 locations for phase I this year.

It aims to achieve proper sanitation for Jakartans through the revitalization of household septic tanks

Wastewater Improvement and Control Division Head, Ichsan Nasution detailed, the revitalization in South Jakarta would be realized in 298 locations, Central Jakarta 376 locations, and East Jakarta 152 locations.

"It aims to achieve proper sanitation for Jakartans through the revitalization of household septic tanks," he expressed, Tuesday (8/24).

He explained, it was carried out as the conditions of household septic tanks in hundreds of locations were generally not impermeable. That was why it was important to prevent leakage.

"The quality of surface and ground water affects the level of public health, water borne diseases or rather like diarrhea, vomiting, leptospirosis, he explained.

According to him, the criteria for houses to be replaced or installed with septic tanks were houses without a septic tank and they who had it but were not yet impermeable.

"We also target houses whose areas are affected by the tidal wave and houses with high ground water conditions," he stated.

As for information, the following is the distribution of the septic tank revitalization subsidy program in South, Central and East Jakarta:

South Jakarta

1. Cilandak Timur Urban Village: 109 locations

2. Ciganjur Urban Village: 111 locations

3. Jagakarsa Urban Village: 78 locations

Central Jakarta

1. Cempaka Putih Barat Urban Village: 38 locations

2. Rawa Sari Urban Village: 37 locations

3. Johar Baru Urban Village: 301 locations

East Jakarta

1. Ciracas Urban Village: 152 locations
