Jakarta to Implement PTM for 610 Schools on Monday

The Jakarta Education Agency (Dinkes) is set to implement face-to-face learning (PTM) in 610 schools on the forthcoming Monday (8/30).

PTM in Jakarta is planned to be held with 50% capacity in every school

According to Nahdiana, Agency Head of Jakarta Dinkes, it is compliance with Joint Decree of Education and Culture Minister, Religion Minister, Health Minister, and Home Minister number 03/KB/2021, number 384/2021, number HK.01.08/MENKES/4242/2021, number 440-717/2021 on Guidelines for PTM amid Covid-19 and Governor Decree number 1026/2021 on PPKM Level 3.

"PTM in Jakarta is planned to be held with 50% capacity in every school, except PAUD, SDLB, MILB, SMPLB, SMALB and MALB with maximum of 5 students, and with distance of 1.5 meters. It will under strict health protocols, as PAUD and SLB students still really need help from the parents," she expressed, at the Dinkes office, South Jakarta, Friday (8/27), as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

She furthered, students and teachers should have vaccination certificates. In fact, the agency had vaccinated around 85.15 percent of teachers and 94.03 percent of students. If someone was exposed to Covid-19, the school would coordinate with the urban village Covid-19 task force for disinfectant spraying including tracing.

Her agency was also providing guidance to educational units that wanted to implement the next stage PTM. Then the education unit filled out the assessment and attended the training beforehand to ensure the readiness for the PTM.

"This is done as a form of prudence in carrying out PTM during the pandemic to reduce the risk of being exposed to Covid-19 in schools. Parents can still choose PTM or online learning for their children," she explained.

Additional school openings would continue with the target of opening all educational units in November. The following are the details of the schools that implement PTM as follows:

1. PAUD: 28 schools

2. SD: 324 schools
