Kembangan Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit personnel dredged water channel on Jalan Meruya Selatan, located next to the exit of North Meruya Toll gate, West Jakarta.
Mud sedimentation thickness reaches 50-60 centimeters
Kembangan Sub-district SDA Unit's Field Coordinator, Abdul Rauf said, dredging work was started today and targeted to be completed next week. So far, his side had collected 300 sacks of mud and garbage from the channel.
"Mud sedimentation thickness reaches 50-60 centimeters. This channel has length of 150 meters with depth of 80 centimeters and width of 1.5 meters," he informed, Monday (8/30).
Channel on Jalan RE Martadinata Dredged to Prevent InundationHis side deployed 16 personnel to dredge the channel using manual equipment such as digging fork, hoe, sack, crowbar, and so on.
"This channel is also dredged to anticipate inundation in the surrounding area. This dredging is expected to optimize the channel thus water can flow properly," he mentioned.
