46 Pump Houses in West Jakarta Prepared Ahead of Rainy Season
North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Andrian Mara Maulana said, there were about 133 pumps in 47 pump houses spread across North Jakarta.
"120 pumps are in good condition and are still operating normally. While the other 13 pumps are still under repair and will be ready in early November," he expressed, Friday (9/24).
He explained, those 13 damaged pumps were located at Ancol, Kali Banglio River, Bulak Cabe, Yupiter, Fish Market, Mangga Dua on north side, Melayu Dam, Pluit Reservoir and Pinang pump houses.
As for 37 mobile pumps, he furthered, four of them were damaged. Then six out of 54 portable pumps were damaged.
"They are now still under repair," he furthered.
He added, small capacity pumps in 25 flood-prone areas were being replaced with larger capacities.
"We have mapped flood-prone areas. The capacity of pumps in pump houses such as Angke, Kelapa Gading and Kodamar have been increased. For 500 liters per second capacity, it is replaced with a pump with 1,000 liters per second and the 1,000 liters per second, we upgrade to 2,000 liters per second," he said.
