North Jakarta Takes Anticipatory Steps at 25 Inundation-Prone Points

North Jakarta Government will take anticipatory steps to prevent inundation in 25 inundation-prone points.

We are also trying to find long-term solution to reduce inundation-prone points

North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim conveyed, related to decreasing inundation-prone points in North Jakarta, his side will cooperate with relevant stakeholders for solving the problems together in each regions in a measurable manner. Thus inundation points can be reduced every year.

"There are many efforts to optimize existing pump houses and equipment. There are also gerebek lumpur program in each sub-district which carried out routinely by relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPDs) and local residents," he said after leading Coordination Meeting (Rakor) in Anticipating Problems and Inundation Handling and Prevention at North Jakarta Mayor Office, Wednesday (9/22).

North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Adrian Mara Maulana added, 25 inundation-prone points are located in 6 sub-districts, such as on Jalan Gaya Motor and Tanjung Priok Terminal.

"We prepare mobile pumps and stationary pumps, as well as replacing pump engines with larger capacity to anticipate inundation, while we are also trying to find long-term solution to reduce inundation-prone points," he stated.
