We cannot control the street vendors because there are no personnel who are currently undergoing an activity at the city level
Based on beritajakarta.com observations, tens of street vendors selling clothes, fruits, and even household furniture set up stalls on the left side of the road. There is no effort from the urban village and sub-district apparatuses to control those street vendors. On the other hand, a Satpol PP’s operational vehicle was seen in the location, surrounded by the street vendors’ carts.
Munaji (52), one of the street vendors, admitted have traded in that location for quite a long time. He said the place is strategic because he and other street vendors do not need to spend money to rent stalls inside the market.
