Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan launched Cakung Growing Productive Public Housing construction on HPL 04 Pulo Jahe, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Thursday (10/7).

75 families of Bukit Duri residents who affected by Ciliwung River normalization program will occupy Cakung Growing Productive Public Housing

On the area of 4,047 square meters, the start of public housing construction was marked by placing sand and grave materials in a glass display by Anies. The construction work is targeted to be completed in March 2022.

This ground breaking event was also attended by Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Area Agency  Head, Sarjoko; City Park and Forestry Agency Head, Suzi Marzitawati; East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, and Bukit Duri residents representatives.

Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Area Agency Head, Sarjoko said, this Productive Public Housing will have five floors with 79 residential units. The building is prepared to accommodate 75 families of Bukit Duri residents, Tebet, South Jakarta. While the other four units will be used for multipurpose rooms, prayer rooms, cooperative, health service, RT and management offices, and kindergarten.

"75 families of Bukit Duri residents who affected by Ciliwung River normalization program will occupy Cakung Growing Productive Public Housing," he stated.

According to him, prospective residents were also involved in planning for Cakung Growing Productive Public Housing construction. Thus physical form of the public housing is made through resident's aspirations.

He emphasized that involvement of residents from beginning of the project would foster a sense of belonging (handarbeni). So they will take a good care of this building.

"Although it is a vertical house, the space can still grow. Productivity support is realized by providing space for residents to carry out economic activities according to their skills," he added.

He explained, Cakung Growing Productive Public Housing was also built by preserving ecology of surrounding environment. Later, water catchment area will be also built under public housing.

"It is needed to maintain the function of groundwater absorption which can minimize flooding in the surrounding area," he mentioned.

For information, funds used to build Cakung Growing Productive Public Housing collected from fulfilling obligation to finance and build cheap/simple public housing on SIPPT of PT. Duta Pertiwi No. 912/-711.534 dated on May 12, 2020 with value around Rp 61 billion.

The basis for this construction refers to preliminary IMB No. 72.C.23a/31.75.06.1001.10.009.R.5/1/1.711.53/2021 on June 23, 2012. As well as IMB No. 54/C.371/31.75.06.1001.10.009.R.5/1/-1.785.51, on September 30, 2021.
