Regent Launches Thousand Trees Planting Movement on Pramuka Island

Thousand Islands Regent, Junaedi launched thousand trees planting program on Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district.

It is done as an effort to create climate village

His side appreciated local urban village's initiative in turning Pramuka Island into green island through this trees planting movement.

"It is done as an effort to create climate village in the context of anticipating and reducing impacts of climate change," he mentioned on Monday (10/11).

Duri Kepa Urban Village Processes Organic Waste Into Compost

He hopes similar activities can be carried out by other urban village and sub-district heads thus Thousand Islands can be greener and more beautiful.

"Insha Allah, after being green and beautiful, tourists become more interested to visit Thousand Islands," he said.

Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Fakih Burhanudin mentioned, his side deployed 32 PPSU personnel to plant trees in stages.

"We plant Pucuk Merah (Syzygium myrtifolium) and Pandan Bali (Cordyline australis) along major arterial roads and residential roads thus when they grows, the area will look beautiful," he conveyed.
