Jakartan Swimmers Win Gold and Bronze Medals at PON XX

"I think he came at the right moment when the gold medal was left behind from West and East Java. He seems to restore the spirit of all athletes and officials to continuously focus, as Jakarta had led the medals," he expressed, Tuesday (10/12).

According to him, Jakarta still has a big chance to get more medals thus it can become the overall champion in PON XX.

"There are still sports and numbers that have not been contested. Hopefully, athletes will use the momentum of the Governor's arrival to Papua as a charger of enthusiasm and determination to become champions," he explained.

He explained, his presence psychologically has a lot of positive impacts on Jakarta's athletes. Moreover, they are currently leaving their beloved family and must focus on competing in the eastern tip of Indonesia.

"This is a very crucial time, as PON is only a few days left. His arrival had a good impact," he told.

He cited, when he came to the Aquatic Venue in Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency, on Monday (10/11), Jakartan swimmer Joe Aditya Kurniawan immediately became the center of attention as he won gold from the 200 m Men's Freestyle.

"Unexpectedly, he was able to beat the senior swimmers of the Indonesian national team. Hopefully, after being visited by the Governor, all athletes who are still competing can win gold medals," he hoped.
