Latest Data on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of October 14, 2021

Jakarta Government continues to control COVID-19 pandemic. Not only implementing 3T, COVID-19 vaccination is also being promoted to priority groups. However, community participation is still needed to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.

In the past week, 124,047 people were tested using PCR

Given that COVID-19 vaccination can only reduce the impact of exposure, there is still a possibility of COVID-19 transmission if people don't follow health protocols. It can be seen from positive cases that are still fluctuating and now tend to increase. It needs cooperation from all sides to break the transmission chain.

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out to 20,073 specimens. From that amount, 17,864 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 113 positive results and 17,751 negative results. Besides, Antigen test was also conducted to 32,721 people with 29 positive results and 32,692 negative results.

Jakarta Closely Monitors Covid-19 Spread to Contain its Transmission

She mentioned that WHO is targeting to test 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week. "This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 124,047 people were tested using PCR. While number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 613,801 per million population," she explained as quoted from PPID Press Release.

Number of active cases is increased by 16 cases thus in total it reached 1,347 active cases as of today (including people who are still being treated/isolated). Moreover, for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 859,736 cases. It should be noted that positive antigen test results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 844,839 people recovered with recovery rate of 98.3% and 13,550 people died with mortality rate of 1.6%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 3.4%.

Positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 0.8%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 13.2%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, vaccination process is still ongoing. For vaccination program, first dose vaccines had been given to 10,700,391 (119.7%) with proportion 65% of them were residents with Jakarta ID card and 35% residents with non-Jakarta ID card. From that amount, 17,669 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today. While second dose vaccines had been given to 8,053,585 people (90.1%) with proportion 67% of them were residents with Jakarta ID card and 33% residents with non-Jakarta ID card. From that amount, 33,323 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanction for anyone who don't wear mask and violate health protocols, and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on October 13, 2021, at 18:00, Satpol PP had collected fine Rp 2,900,000 from mask operation and monitoring restaurants, cafes and food stalls, offices, workplaces, and business places. During the operation, 2 other business places were temporarily suspended.

Hopefully, all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Government advised people who want to be vaccinated to go directly to vaccination site. In faster way, people can register online through JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, people can choose time and place of vaccination, as well as conduct online health pre-screening test.

Vaccination sites can be checked through google maps app. Only by writing 'vaksin COVID-19', people can get information about vaccination site locations and how to get there.

Here are categories for residents aged 18+ who can be vaccinated in Jakarta:

- Residents with Jakarta ID card

- Residents with ID cards from outside Jakarta, but domiciled in Jakarta (bringing domicile letter obtained from RT administrator, not necessarily from RT Head)

- Residents with ID card outside Jakarta who work in Jakarta (bringing employment certificate)

Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunity for residents who want to provide assistance to the others who affected by COVID-19 through Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program.
