Central Jakarta Vice Mayor, Irwandi launched flowerhorn (louhan) fish contest with theme Jakarta Soul of Competition at Johar Baru Ornamental Fish Promotion Center, Central Jakarta.

He said this activity was held to improve the economy. It was also a part of guidance carried out by Central Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium (PPKUKM) Sub-agency in supporting central government's program, namely entrepreneurs development and growth (ornamental fish cultivation) thus MSMEs wil continue to grow and develop in various fields.

"We also want ornamental fish promotion center in Johar Baru to be busy again with various ornamental fish contests," he stated, Friday (10/22).

During COVID-19 pandemic, he assessed, MSME is one of the most affected sector. Through this activity, it is expected to help entrepreneurs to expand their marketing network and increase their income.

"I am optimistic that ornamental fish contest can increase their income, open up opportunities, and generate potential new entrepreneurs. Therefore, entrepreneurs and communities can use this moment as well as possible to develop their businesses," he conveyed.

In the same location, Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati said, this activity becomes a pride for flowerhorn fish community in Central Jakarta and this Series 3 Soul of Competition can bring together all flowerhorn fish lovers and communities in Indonesia.

"There are 160 fish that have entered and participated in the contest. This event lasts for four days, from October 22 to 25, 2021. While the assessment will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Later, nine winners will be selected from Series 3 Soul of Competition," she explained.
