The Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency has been started developing residential scale centralized domestic wastewater management systems (SPALD-T) in ten locations this year.
We continue to push the work and is targeted to be complete in mid-December
Of ten locations, three are in South Jakarta, two are in West Jakarta, two are in East Jakarta and three are in North Jakarta.
Robby Dwi Mariansyah, Division Head of Wastewater Management Facilities and Infrastructure Development said, the progress of the work in such locations has reached 25.73 percent.
SDA Agency Improves SPALD Capacity in Two Locations"It is still in the construction stage of IPAL, it has not yet entered the network. We continue to push the work and is targeted to be complete in mid-December," he expressed, Monday (10/25).
He explained, there were SPALD-Ts in eight locations which would later manage wastewater directly from people's homes. The piping network in each SPALD-T was about 100 house connections (SR).
As for other SPALD-Ts in two locations would manage wastewater directly from the connecting channel (Phb).
"The pump has 3,000 cubic meters capacity per day and another one has 500 cubic meters capacity per day," he explained.
According to him, those SPALD-Ts were built on lands belong to the Jakarta administration with dimensions of about 100 square meters.
"To build them, we spend about Rp 50 billion," he explained.
He added, the results of the wastewater treatment would have reached the level of raw water, but it is not yet suitable for consumption, bathing and washing dishes.
"Water can only be used for watering plants, washing cars or water needs for firefighting," he continued.
