Governor Anies: JIS can Be Used in Any Condition

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, inspected the installation of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS)'s roof truss located in Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/16).

It was also attended by Jakpro Director, Dwi Wahyu Daryoto; Jakmania Chairman, Diky Soemarno; and North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim and its ranks.
At the location, the Governor disclosed that the JIS development could be a pilot for the international community, that the Indonesian people were able to work on complex engineering projects. It could be seen through the roof truss lifting, using Hydraulic Jack machines spread across 16 points in JIS area.

He also appreciated the unique facilities at JIS, which were built using a 'retractable roof', or using an open and closed roof system thus it could be used in any weather conditions.
"It can be used for matches even during the day, as it allows for the roof to be closed. Then this makes the utilization of the stadium more optimal, as it can be used all the time, throughout the year, without being disturbed by the weather and operating hours. So this is the first breakthrough in Indonesia," he explained.
He went on to say that the work this time was very complex, thus it needed competence, very high precision, perseverance and seriousness of extraordinary preparation. It should be prepared thus the load of the roof truss which weighs 3,900 tons and had 270 meters length could be lifted from 70 meters height.
"There are about 800 to 1,000 people involved in this construction. We feel grateful and hope this can be completed soon. We can all be proud of our engineers who prepared this program, this project, so well. Likewise, workers in the field who work day and night, to ensure that the construction takes place on time, on budget, and with the right quality," he uttered.
As for the information, the JIS roof truss installation process with final completion is targeted for completion on July 5. Then the first match will begin in the forthcoming December when everything is done.
