317 Vehicles Undergo Emission Test in Central Jakarta

Some 317 motorcycles underwent an emission test yesterday in an effort to reduce air pollution in the capital. It was held at the office of Central Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency, Jalan Rawasari Timur Number 1, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village, Cempaka Putih Sub-district.

This is a must for vehicles aged three years and over

LH Sub-agency Head, Marsigit disclosed, 272 were gasoline-fueled vehicles and 45 were diesel-fueled vehicles.

"They all pass emission test. This is a must for vehicles aged three years and over," he expressed, Thursday (11/11).

Emission Test Has Been Conducted on 1,749 Cars in South Jakarta

According to him, it was an effort or socialization of the Gubernatorial Regulation number 66/2020 on Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emission Tests. By so, the sub-agency has given an opportunity for the public or operational service vehicles that have yet to undergo emission tests for free at each of the designated workshops.

"Every vehicle that fails the test should undergo regular servicing until they pass the test," he stressed.

He hoped that vehicle owners could carry out emission tests in a bid to improve air quality in Jakarta and realize the Jakarta Langit Biru program.
