January, Retribution in 153 Traditional Markets Use Auto-debit

The retribution payment of hundreds of thousands of peddlers in 153 traditional markets managed by PD Pasar Jaya, starting next year will be using non-cash transaction with auto-debit card.

PD Pasar Jaya Administration and Finance Director, Ratna Ayuningsih, stated this policy will be applied starting January 2, 2015. For start, it has been applied on Wednesday (11/26) to peddlers in Manggis Market, Tebet Timur Urban Village, Tebet Sub-District, South Jakarta.
“We have cooperated with seven banks. The peddlers are free to choose one desired bank,” she said, Saturday (11/29).
City to Facilitate Hundreds of Thousands of Street VendorsAccording to Ayuningsih, those seven banks are DKI Bank, BRI, BNI, Mandiri, BTN Syariah, BCA, and OCBC. On every 20th, bank system will automatically collect the bill of market management cost in accordance to the procedures. The cost is different in each market.
Meanwhile, DKI Bank Marketing Director, Mulyatno Wibowo, told that this auto-debit system is very profitable for DKI Bank because this policy makes DKI Bank gets many new customers.
“We hope this system could also be applied to street vendors,” he expressed.
