Jakarta Government and DPRD Agree on Regional Regulations Regarding APBD 2022

Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria represented Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan in attending Plenary Meeting at Jakarta Council (DPRD), Central Jakarta, on Monday (11/29). In the meeting, Ariza and DPRD Chairpersons signed Approval of Regional Regulation Drafts (Raperda) concerning Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD) for Fiscal Year 2022. It was followed by symbolic handover of Raperda that had been approved by DPRD Chairpersons to Jakarta Vice Governor, Ariza.

When conveying the Final Opinion Speech for Jakarta Governor, Vice Governor Ariza emphasized that with stipulation of Raperda as Regional Regulation on Jakarta APBD for Fiscal Year 2022, he hopes that Executive and Legislative Bodies in Jakarta can continue to improve synergy, focus, and optimize efforts for handling and increasing health recovery capacity for residents affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, Vice Governor Ariza added that Executive and Legislative Bodies are expected to optimally improve collaboration in handling economic recession, keep the business alive, and provide social safety nets, as well as continue strategic development programs for Jakarta residents.
Jakarta DPRD Determines 26 Raperda in Propemperda 2022"We are both aware that the impact of COVID-19 is still putting pressure on Jakarta's economy, causes adjustments on targets that should be achieved in 2022. Hopefully, 2022 is a year where Jakarta's economy can rise and recover. It needs good cooperation from all parties thus Jakarta is consistent and continues to succeed in controlling COVID-19 pandemic and restoring the economy," he said, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.
He also said that currently the spread of COVID-19 outbreak in Jakarta is in stable and controlled condition. Thus, Jakarta has started to relax community activities in several fields. For this reason, he reminded all levels of Jakarta society to continue maintain the condition by always synergizing in carrying out health protocols in every activities in a disciplined manner.
"However, (it must) be accompanied by vigilance and anticipation of new COVID-19 variant, which is now starting to increase again in several European and Asian countries, especially ahead of Christmas and New Year's Eve which has the potential to increase population mobility," he mentioned.
Furthermore, he also expressed gratitude and appreciation to Jakarta DPRD Chairpersons and Members for their thoroughness and sincerity in observing and reviewing all substances of Raperda material on Jakarta APBD for Fiscal Year 2022.
"Executive board will follow up on various suggestions, comments, and recommendations from Council which are submitted during the process of discussing, finalizing, and approving Regional Regulation, all of which will become important notes for the Executive," he closed.
