Channel Normalization on Jl. Panca Raya is Targeted to Be Completed in Early December

Channel normalization work in RT 06 of RW 06, Jalan Panca Raya, Serdang Urban Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta that was carried out since November 15, is targeted to be completed in early December.

Kemayoran Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head, Supriyadi mentioned, progress of channel normalization work along 17 meters and crossing channel as long as 5 meters has now reached 13 meters or around 75 percent. Seven personnel were deployed to normalize the channel manually using breaker unit, generator set, hoe, crowbar, and sledgehammer.

"Normalization work has been carried out since November 15 and targeted to be completed in this week," he informed, Tuesday (11/30).

According to him, normalization was carried out to follow up resident's proposal submitted through Musrenbang because channel was damaged and narrowing. It caused clog on the channel and triggered inundation.

"The channel is widened around 15-20 centimeters thus water can flow smoothly," he added.

Not only widening the channel, SDA personnel also dredged mud from the channel and made 9 covers on the channel with size 600x600 centimeters each.

"We collect five cubic meters mud from the channel. After repairing, we hope residents will no longer throw garbage to the channel again," he stated.
