Anies Hopes Jakarta Care Day for Children and Youth Becomes Solution for Those Affected by Covid-19

The Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos), launched the Jakarta Child and Youth Care Card as an effort to lighten residents' burden, especially orphans whose parents died due to Covid-19 outbreak. Its launching was conducted by giving the card symbolically by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan to 10 beneficiaries at Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (12/29).

Thus, they can do daily activities smoothly, including in learning activities

The total beneficiaries of this card reached 4,540 people. They classified as children under 18 and youth aged between 18-22 as of December 31, 2021 in all areas of Jakarta.

By doing so, the Jakarta administration hoped that it could help maintain their nutritional quality. With good nutrition, hopefully it could maintain their immune system and health well.

"Thus, they can do daily activities smoothly, including in learning activities. This program will be continued in 2022, by updating the data again according to the criteria and provisions of the applicable laws and regulations," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He also gave highest appreciation to all ranks of Dinsos and PT Bank DKI for all the support of this activity. He hoped, the assistance could also be solace for the beneficiaries.

"To children and youth, I hope it can give you some comfort. I entrust a message to the parents who take care of them, what you are doing is a noble act. Hopefully, your love and affection can be solace for children and teenagers whose parents died due to the pandemic," he concluded.

As for the information, the legal basis for the Jakarta Child and Youth Care Card is the Gubernatorial Regulation number 107/2021 on Provision of Social Assistance for Children and Adolescents whose Parents Die due to Covid-19. Meanwhile, the amount of assistance provided through the card is Rp 300,000 per person in December 2021.

The launching itself was also attended by City Secretary, Marullah Matali; Jakarta Dinsos Head, Premi Lasari; People's Welfare Assistant, Uus Kuswanto; and representatives of Bank DKI.
