Rabies Vaccination is Given to 5,036 Animals in Central Jakarta

In January-December 2021, Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency in Central Jakarta had vaccinated 5,036 animals that have potential to transmit rabies. Rabies vaccination had been carried out in eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Penty Yunesi Pudyastuti mentioned, free rabies vaccination was provided to maintain Jakarta's status as rabies-free area set by government since 2004.

"This is our main strategy to prevent rabies, by providing free rabies vaccination in eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta," she said, Thursday (12/30).

Anti-rabies Vaccination Given to 1,413 Animals in Kemayoran

From total 5,036 animals, her side had vaccinated 1,011 dogs, 3,970 cats, 32 monkeys, and 23 ferrets.

"Number of animals vaccinated in this year exceeds the target, which is 5,000 animals. We hope rabies vaccination will also continue next year and the number will continue to increase," she conveyed.
