"Along with it, we need also optimize reforestation such as planting large trees and adding new green open spaces (RTH)," he added.
He assessed that it was necessary to develop areas that limit motor vehicle movement in urban areas, such as Kota Tua, Ancol, Monas, GBK, TMII, Kemayoran, and residential areas in Menteng, Kebayoran Baru, Pondok Indah, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) and Kelapa Gading.
"It is also necessary to implement electronic road pricing, expand odd-even area, progressive parking, carry out emission test, and develop eco-friendly vehicles," he mentioned.
He also suggested government to make policy that requires residents to donate or plant trees when taking care their documents, such as STNK renewal, birth certificate and marriage certificate issuance, etc.
"It requires tree planting master plan. Thus people can know about this program, regarding what kind of tree they should plant or donate and where they should plant it," he continued.
For information, in virtual discussion of Balkoters Talk themed 'Reduce Emission, Pollution-Free Jakarta' on Thursday (12/30), Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency's Environmental Impact Management Division Head, Yusiono Anwar stated that air quality conditions in Jakarta in January-December 2021 were moderate (218 days), unhealthy (138 days) and good (6 days).
"Based on monitoring that we carried out on parameters of PO3, Nitrogen, Hydrocarbon and SO2 from January to December 2021, the dominance was in blue color, which is moderate condition, meaning that it is safe to carry out outdoor activities," he closed.
