South Jakarta SDA Prepares 13 Mobile Pumps to Anticipate Flooding

The South Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is about to prepare 13 mobile trailer pumps at some points in order to anticipate flooding.

These pumps are alerted for backing up if there is flooding at vulnerable points

South Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab said, those pumps that have 500 liters per second capacity is the result of procurement for the 2021 City Budget (APBD).

According to him, those 13 pumps alerted in eight flood-prone areas, namely BKD 9 Pump House (2 units), BKD 4 Pump (1 unit ), BKD 3 Pump (1 unit), BKD 1 Pump (2 units).

Then Kebon Baru Pump House RW 01 (1 unit), Kebon Baru Pump House on Jalan D (1 unit), Kebon Baru Pump House on Jalan H (3 units), Kebon Baru Pump House on Jalan J (1 unit), and Kemang Raya Pump House (1 unit).

"These pumps are alerted for backing up if there is flooding at vulnerable points," he continued, Wednesday (1/5).

He furthered, performance testing and training on the operation of mobile trailer pumps for pump operators had been carried out in Setu Babakan on November 29, 2021.

Aside that, there were also four other pumps from Alkal. They are currently placed in Perdatam, Pulo Raya, IKPN and Loka Indah pump houses.

"By so, it is expected to anticipate flooding when it rains," he hoped.
