Satpol PP: 38,174 People Netted for Not Wearing Masks during January 2022

The Jakarta Satpol PP has announced that at least 38,174 residents had been netted in the mask-wearing operation during January 2022

Don't try to trick the officers

Of 38,174 residents netted, 37,729 were subject to social work sanctions and 445 others were subject to administrative fines.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin instructed his subordinate to intensify the operation in order to discipline health protocols for residents and business actors, which aims to curb the transmission of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

He explained that the operation is massively intensified in the open space of city parks, traditional markets, shopping centers, and tourist sites.

"Including supervision of restrictions on operating hours, place capacity and the use of PeduliLindungi application for business actors," he asserted, Thursday (2/3).

He had warned the business actors to always comply with health protocols, especially in case of operating hours and capacity limitations.

"Don't try to trick the officers. This is because we need your cooperation and awareness to contain the virus," he stated.
