Jakarta Intensifies Booster Shots to Public via JAKI

The Jakarta administration continues to boost its Covid-19 booster program for the general public, as Jakarta hit high in cases amid the rise of the Omicron variant.

"Jakarta has exceeded the target for the first dose of vaccination by 10,083,716 people being vaccinated

Widyastuti, Head of Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) said that if someone was exposed to Covid-19 after getting vaccinated, the symptoms tended to be milder than before the vaccination.

Thereby, the booster vaccination is still being intensified to increase the body's immunity and it has been more than 6 months since the second dose of vaccination.

"Jakarta has exceeded the target for the first dose of vaccination by 10,083,716 people being vaccinated. Until Tuesday (2/8) at 8 PM, in total, 12,147,669 people have received the first dose, 10,013,120 have received the second dose, and 836,846 have received the third dose," she explained, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (2/8).

She went on to say that the booster vaccine targets people aged 18 and over, prioritizing the elderly and people with immune problems.

Despite receiving the booster vaccine, the public is advised to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols and to continue to be alert to the transmission of the Omicron variant which is currently rampant in Jakarta.

Yudhistira Nugraha, BLUD Head for Jakarta Smart City uttered that the booster vaccination registration feature via JAKI application is a commitment from Jakarta Smart City and Dinkes to boost vaccination in Jakarta. Hopefully, the public could easily choose the location and schedule of booster vaccinations according to their wishes.

"A person may be given a booster vaccine six months after the second dose of vaccination. So, before six months pass, the public won't be able to see the booster vaccine schedule via JAKI. Like previous vaccination registrations, JAKI users can choose their vaccination schedule and location," he added.

So, for those of you who have passed six months from the second vaccination dose, you can directly register fo r a booster vaccination via JAKI which can be downloaded via Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

In addition to booster vaccination, primary vaccination is also still rolling in Jakarta. Through the feature, 'Registration for Covid19 Vaccination at JAKI', residents are expected to be able to access Covid-19 vaccinations more easily, quickly, and safely.

All official information from the administration about Covid-19, such as vaccination schedules and daily Covid-19 data, can also be obtained via the JakWarta feature on JAKI.

Here are the steps for registering a booster vaccination via JAKI:

1. Open JAKI and click ‘Pendaftaran Vaksinasi COVID-19' banner

2. Enter your full name and NIK (resident registration number), and click 'Periksa'

3. Read the terms and conditions, then click 'Ya, saya mengerti'

4. If you can get the third dose or booster, you will see the information 'Siap divaksinasi dosis 3' on the vaccination status page

5. If you have received the vaccination date, click 'Daftar Ulang Vaksinasi Dosis 3'

6. Fill in vaccine recipients category

7. Choose a vaccination location and complete your data

8. Re-check the data, if everything is correct, click 'Kirim'

9. After registering, fill in the pre-screening to review the state of health before vaccination

10. Download and print Vaccination and Control Cards to show to staff at vaccination locations
