The Jakarta Government continues to control the COVID-19 pandemic, which recently has seen a significant increase in the number of cases.
In the past week, 373,600 people were tested using PCR
Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, the number of active cases in Jakarta today declined by 1,747 cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 75,466 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).
"People should be aware of Omicron variant transmission which is on the rise in Jakarta. While COVID-19 vaccination is still proceeding with a broader scope, 3T should be intensified," she said according to a press release issued by Jakarta PPID on Saturday (2/19).
Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of February 18Data from Jakarta Health Agency mentioned that from a total of 65,665 PCR specimens, 53,128 people had been tested today to diagnose new cases which resulted in 9,453 positive and 43,675 negative cases.
On Friday (2/18) from 10:00 to 24:00, antigen test was carried out on 3,157 people with 365 positive and 2,792 negative results (today's data on antigen tests in Jakarta is impended by Ministry of Health's NAR system).
For information, positive antigen test results in Jakarta are not included in the total positive cases because all of them have been reconfirmed by PCR.
From total positive cases, 1,031,739 people recovered with a recovery rate of 92.0% and 14,326 people died with a mortality rate of 1.3%. While the mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.8%.
On the other hand, the WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.
"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 373,600 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 879,035 per million population," she added.
The positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 18.3%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 12.0%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.
Meanwhile, the vaccination program is continued. First dose vaccines had been given to 12,394,090 people (122.9%) with a proportion of 70% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 30% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 2,182 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today.
The second dose vaccines had been given to 10,377,325 people (102.9%) with a proportion of 72% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 28% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 9,341 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.
The third dose (booster) vaccine had been given to 1,123,825 people as of today. Of that amount, 25,781 people had been injected with third dose vaccines today.
Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanctions for anyone who doesn't wear a mask and violate health protocols and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.
Based on the daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on February 18, 2022, Satpol PP had conducted a mask operation and collected Rp 1,000,000 in fine. They also closed temporarily 14 restaurants, 1 office, and 2 business places. Hopefully, all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

By registering online, people can choose the time and place of vaccination, as well as to conduct online health pre-screening tests.
