Jakarta IKM Sends Aid for West Pasaman Earthquake Victims

The Jakarta Province's Minang Family Association (IKM) has confirmed that they will soon send aid and volunteers to help earthquake victims in West Pasaman, West Sumatera.

Jakart a IKM Regional Leadership Council (DPW) Chairperson, Irwandi stated that his side would collaborate with the Jakarta Provincial Government to help earthquake victims in West Pasaman.

"I am sorry for the victims who died due to this earthquake. Innalillahi wa innailaihi rajiun, everything happened by the will of Allah. May the bereaved families be given patience and sincerity," he conveyed, Saturday (2/26).

He mentioned that Minang people who were overseas would still pay attention to residents in their hometown.

"We are trying our best to collect donations. You (victims) are not alone. I am sure many of our brothers and sisters who will give an assistance," he added.

According to plan, the aid and volunteers will go to West Pasaman on Monday (3/1).

"They will be directly released by Jakarta Governor, Mr. Anies Baswedan," said Irwandi, who currently also serves as Central Jakarta Deputy Mayor.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his empathy and quick response to earthquake in West Pasaman.

"God willing, we will leave on Monday by plane or land. I will be joining them also," he closed.
