DRD: Revitalization of Cultural Heritage Areas and Buildings must Be Continued

The Jakarta Regional Research Council (DRD) has said that the program to revitalize areas and cultural heritage buildings in the capital must continue in the Jakarta 2023-2026 Regional Development Plan (RPD).

It's about improving the wheels of the economy

According to Muhammad Fausal Kahar, a member of Jakarta DRD, three cultural heritage areas, namely Kota Tua, Menteng, and Kebayoran Baru, as well as hundreds of cultural heritage buildings in the capital, could be potential to boost the economy.

With revitalization, he cited, the Kota Tua area could re-develop with allotments following current needs and conditions.

DRD: Polder Development is Needed to Overcome Floods

"We strongly support it to turn the Kota Tua into an emission-free zone," he expressed, Sunday (3/6).

By doing so, he hoped that areas and cultural heritage buildings in Jakarta could attract more tourists to visit, which aims to increase regional treasury income while helping the economic wheels of SMEs.

"It's about improving the wheels of the economy," he concluded.
