Fall-Prone Trees Pruning Intensified in North Jakarta

The North Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency intensifies pruning and monitoring on trees prone to falling in North Jakarta, to anticipate fallen trees due to strong winds.

As an anticipatory measure, we are intensifying pruning of dense trees

On Saturday (3/5) and Sunday (3/6), the sub-agency had evacuated 16 fallen and splintered trees due to rain accompanied by strong winds.

North Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency's Green Belt and Cemetery Section Head, Prihanto Budi Susilo mentioned most trees were falling because of rain and strong winds in several locations.

Last January, 796 Trees Pruned in West Jakarta

"As an anticipatory measure, we are intensifying pruning of dense trees," he conveyed, Monday (3/7).

From the total of 16 fallen and splintered trees, his side evacuated 12 trees on Saturday (3/5) and the rest on Sunday (3/6). Then eight of them were uprooted and the others were broken. They were angsana, trembesi, mahogany, cherry, acacia, jabon, randu, and banyan trees.

"We also conduct surveys and collect data on trees that are dense and prone to fall, assisted by colleagues from the sub-district unit," he closed.
