South Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency officers are deployed to remove piles of garbage and mud at some water channels in the Setiabudi Sub-district, which aims to minimize puddles when it rains heavily.

Setiabudi Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Yansori said other officers were also spotted dredging up some channels on Jalan Sultan Agung, precisely in front of Pasar Rumput Rusunawa, Pasar Manggis Urban Village; Jalan Minangkabau Barat; Jalan Dr. Satrio; as well as at Tiong and Anggrek connecting channels, Karet Kuningan Urban Village.

He explained the thickness of the mud in some of the channels was 40 to 80 centimeters.
"Those channels are silting up and cannot optimally accommodate water during heavy rains," he explained.
If it was done, he was optimistic, it could be handled to minimize puddles.
"It is carried out manually using hoes considering most channels are full of mud and debris," he stated.
