Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department on Monday (12/8) held raid against taxi that does not have complete documents. As a result, 16 taxis netted.

All of those taxis are prohibited to operate until the drivers can show complete documents

Those 16 taxis consist of 7 Ekspress taxis, 4 Koperasi taxis, 2 Executive taxis, 2 PE taxis, and 1 Pusaka taxi. They were netted on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Senen, Central Jakarta.

“All of those taxis are prohibited to operate until the drivers can show complete documents,” asserted Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Syamsuddin.

Zebra Operation, 480 Vehicles Ticketed

According to Syamsuddin, his department will also take action against taxi that is operating in area that is not determined in its operational permit. But, it is exceptional for taxi that only brings passengers to other areas.

“If its operational permit is in Tangerang, the taxi cannot pick up passenger in Jakarta, unless dropping by only,” he stated.

Besides netting 16 taxis, the officers also ticketed 6 gas-fueled bajajs due to incomplete documents.

“Not only incomplete, most of their documents also have expired, such as operation permit and business licenses feasibility,” told Head of Supervision and Control Section for Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Harlem Simanjutak.
