Food Control in Markets will Be Intensified Ahead of Ramadan

Some 214 food product samples sold at modern market outlets in South Jakarta were taken for laboratory testing by the South Jakarta Maritime, Fishery, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency, on Monday (3/21).

Alhamdulillah, all food products are clean from hazardous materials and fit for consumption

Food Security and Agriculture Division Head Nila Kartina expressed it was conducted to ensure the food is free from hazardous materials such as formaldehyde, eber, chlorine, and pesticide residues.

"We do it together with BPOM. Those 214 samples tested consist of 95 agriculture samples, 31 animal husbandry samples, and 76 fishery samples," she expressed.

Food Inspection Held in Four Traditional Markets in South Jakarta

At the location, the officers also got assistance from the Jakarta KPKP Agency.

"Alhamdulillah, all food products are clean from hazardous materials and fit for consumption," she explained.

Even, the same action would be also intensified in traditional markets spread across South Jakarta approaching Ramadan.

"Zero hazardous materials since the last two years. If it is found, we will summon sellers and destroy food products containing hazardous materials," she asserted.
