The Jakarta Government continues to control the COVID-19 pandemic, which recently has seen a significant increase in the number of cases.
In the past week, 118,444 people were tested using PCR
Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, the number of active cases in Jakarta today declined by 424 cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 10,940 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).
"People should be aware of Omicron variant transmission which is on the rise in Jakarta. While COVID-19 vaccination is still proceeding with a broader scope, 3T should be intensified," she said according to a press release issued by Jakarta PPID on Tuesday (3/22).

Antigen test was also carried out today on 35,325 people with 751 positive and 34,574 negative results. Please note that positive antigen results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all of them were reconfirmed by PCR.
From total positive cases, 1,204,167 people recovered with a recovery rate of 97.9% and 15,102 people died with a mortality rate of 1.2%. While the mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.6%.
On the other hand, the WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.
"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 118,444 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 963,143 per million population," she added.
The positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 7.9%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 12%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.
Meanwhile, the vaccination program is continued. First dose vaccines had been given to 12,451,169 people (123.5%) with a proportion of 70.2% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 29.8% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 5,322 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today.
The second dose vaccines had been given to 10,520,894 people (104.3%) with a proportion of 73.2% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 26.8% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. Of that amount, 21,021 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.
The third dose (booster) vaccine had been given to 2,020,863 people as of today. Of that amount, 142,572 people had been injected with third dose vaccines today.
Jakarta Government continues to provide isolation beds and ICU beds for COVID-19 patients. Based on the latest data on March 20, 2022, in total 140 referral hospitals, there were 5,683 isolation beds with bed occupancy rate 20% and total 1,116 isolation patients. Then, 914 ICU beds with bed occupancy rate 28% and total 260 ICU patients.
Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanctions for anyone who doesn't wear a mask and violate health protocols and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places.
The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license. Based on the daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on March 21, 2022, Satpol PP had conducted a mask operation and collected Rp 300,000 in fine.
