Here are Schedules of Wayang Show at Wayang Museum

The Jakarta Culture Agency has finally opened the wayang kulit (leather shadow puppet) show at the Wayang Museum, Jalan Pintu Besar Utara No. 27 Pinangsia, Taman Sari Sub-district, West Jakarta.

Hope it can attract interest to know more about the history and culture of Indonesia

According to Iwan Henry Wardhana, Head of Jakarta Culture Agency, the wayang show that has been opened since Sunday (3/27) performed the play 'Gatotkaca Wisuda' with the puppeteer Ki Sri Kuncoro or better known as Dalang Brimob. It will continue until November 27.

"I appreciate and support the Art Museum Management Unit in increasing public enthusiasm to visit museums and get to know Indonesian cultural arts, especially wayang kulit. Hope it can attract interest to know more about the history and culture of Indonesia," he expressed, in Kuningan Timur, South Jakarta, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (3/29).

It is open to the public and can be seen live at the Wayang Museum. The ticket price paid is very affordable, starting from Rp 2,000 for students, Rp 3,000 for college students, and Rp 5,000 for adults.

Further, the museum has thousands of collections of puppets from all over Indonesia and dolls from abroad.

Before the pandemic, the wayang performances that were shown had become a routine activity every Sunday with different plays, types of puppets, and puppeteers. Then in the pandemic, it had to be stopped temporarily.
