Logistics Distributed to Tornado Victims on Kelapa Island

In the aftermath of a tornado that hit Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands yesterday at 9 PM, the Seribu Islands Regency administration and related units immediately take an action by distributing logistics to the victims on Tuesday (3/29).

Seribu Islands Regent Junaedi said the logistics given were in the form of food, clothing, tarpaulins, toiletries, and cash. They were from Seribu Islands PMI and Baznas Bazis.

"Hope it can lighten the victims' burden," he stated.

He also advised victims to be patient and steadfast considering that a disaster could come at any time.

"Previously, dozens of joint officers such as Satpol PP, PPSU, and PJLP had been alerted to help residents whose homes were affected by the tornado," he explained.

According to Irfan Damanhuri, Head of Kelapa Island Urban Village, the tornado had damaged 61 houses in RW 01, 03, 04, and 05. In detail, 23 out of 61 houses were in RW 01, one in RW 02, eight in RW 03, 24 in RW 04, and five in RW 05.

"This disaster also caused two fishing boats to sink," he added.

As for the information, there were no fatalities or serious injuries in this incident. All victims have also been treated, where some stay in the post and the rest stay in the houses of their closest relatives.
