LIGA Jakarta: JIS will Be the Pride of Indonesia

The Across Generations of Activists (LIGA) Jakarta, visited the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Jalan RE Martadinata, Papango Urban Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Friday (4/8).

Besides Jakarta, it will also be the pride of Indonesia

LIGA Jakarta is a forum for activists in Jakarta to take part in addressing and contributing to policies and development in Jakarta.

These cross-generational activists include Jakarta Public Service (JPS), Jakarta Community Alliance (Amarta), Jakarta Monitoring Network (JMN), Jakarta Community Association for Humanity and Justice (Humanika), and Jakarta Care Youth Forum (FPPJ).

2,000 Tree Seeds Prepared to Green JIS Area

LIGA Jakarta Speaker Rahmatullah stated the JIS stadium was very grand and a reflection of Jakarta because of the design and sophistication of the technology used.

"The stadium has a retractable roof, this is truly international. Besides Jakarta, it will also be the pride of Indonesia," he expressed who is also the Coordinator of the Presidium of the Jakarta Society for Humanity and Justice (Humanika).

Besides sports, it was also built to hold various religious to entertainment events. "It will be a happy place for all residents," he exclaimed.

Jakarta Monitoring Network Executive Director Ahmad Sulhy explained the stadium could be used for a wide variety of activities and its construction was almost done.

"The completion of this construction marked the completion of Mr. Anies-Sandi's campaign promise at that time which later became a Regional Strategic Activity (KSD)," he continued.

According to him, the stadium operational would also absorb a lot of workers and could be a very representative business site for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Moreover, the Jakarta administration pays great attention to the Jakpreneur program.

"Despite there is curation, Jakpreneur or MSMEs from the surrounding area must be a priority," he added.

While Jakarta Community Alliance (Amarta) Chair Rico Sinaga hoped that JIS as a monumental building that was built when Mr. Anies served as the Governor could continue to be well cared for.

"It must be well cared for by whoever will become the next Governor," he concluded.

As for the information, the construction of JIS, which has a capacity of 82,000 spectators, has now reached more than 99 percent.
